About Us
"It just seems to be a human trait to want to protect the speech of people with whom we agree. For the First Amendment, that is not good enough. So it is really important that we protect First Amendment rights of people no matter what side of the issue they are on."
Floyd Abrams
Introduction
14forKids is created and designed by Region 14 citizens to help improve our community and bring awareness to issues that are affecting our children, taxpayers and citizens of Woodbury and Bethlehem. This site is not a private forum but rather an open site where the Region 14 community can freely share ideas, voice concerns, gain knowledge and bring awareness to issues that may not otherwise be known, especially for those that are affected in similar ways. Your contribution of ideas, comments, information and solutions are paramount to the success of this project. The success of this website will be built on the continued participation of residents, in both Bethlehem and Woodbury, sharing their viewpoints and providing candid feedback as this will help us to let your voice be heard. Confidentiality and privacy are of the utmost importance to this project and the administrators will NEVER post anyone's name or identity on the website, unless they expressly request us to do so. This site will serve as a collaboration of the Region 14 community where citizens can openly share their experiences, knowledge of issues, concerns, kudos and most importantly how we can work to make our community better for everyone. There can be no fear of reprisal because only "the issues" will be shared on the site. Therefore, candor and honesty are safe and what will make this effort truly payoff.
The towns of Woodbury and Bethlehem were built on strength, resolve, resilience and prosperity and we must ensure that our reputation is not tarnished, diminished or squandered in any way. Our communities must remain competitive and attractive, to both families and businesses, and strive to provide everyone with the opportunity to grow and prosper with a solid sense of community and comradery.
By posting only "the issues" shared by members of the community (no names or identities), we will highlight, organize and bring attention in a respectful and productive manner. This will serve to raise awareness, garner community support and make our elected officials take note of what is truly important to the community and help them clearly understand that we will no longer settle for less than we deserve. Please share this website with all of your friends and neighbors, within the Region 14 community, so that we can help make all of our voices heard and elevate our community in a positive and constructive way.
It takes a village to raise a child and there are currently 1,611 Region 14 students who are counting on us to help them shape their future with a solid foundation from which they can build their own success.
Please share this site with your friends and neighbors so we can Let Your Voice Be Heard!
